The most painful form of torture

What do you imagine it to be?

It's hard to pick one, but I think a few high ranking forms (in no particular order) would be...

Thin metal rod slowly inserted into the male urethra (incidentally, this is a fetish for some)
Wooden spikes pushed under the finger nails
Being submerged in a large pot of water that gradually gets hotter until boiling, only to have the heat turned down and back up again

Not sure why this curiosity just struck me, but just wondering I guess

The most painful form of torture I've heard.

Insert a hollow piece of tubing into the victims asshole.

Then thread barb/razor wire inside the tubing, deep into the victims insides.

Remove said tubing, asshole tightens up.

Forgot to mention the brazen bull, which was a bronze sculpture of a bull and a trap door in the top. Victim was locked inside, and a fire was lit under the bull. The screams of the victim came out through the nostrils of the bull and resembled the noise a bull makes when filtered through the structure.

I just imagine the knee-jerk reaction I have to touching hot metal (like a seatbelt in a hot car). I can only imagine being surrounded by it on all sides and having nowhere to go, as you crawl around touching that shit everywhere.

Lynch mobs in the Jack the Ripper days did it best. They'd beat you within an inch of your life and lock you up to nearly starve to death for months while you naturally healed and repeat the process until they got bored with you. Then they'd let you go...if you were still alive.

Living after that would be torture in and of itself.

How about keeping someone captive in a room and all they are allowed to do is take opiates and the only food/drink they are allowed to ever eat is peanuts and pod tea.

brazen bull would be SO scary...

I am claustrophobic and just imagining being stuck in a completely dark, enclosed metal 'bull' would be terrifying enough, without being baked alive inside it.

Also, I have an addition to the idea of being forced into a giant pot that is heated to boiling temp.  It would be terrifying to have a cover over the pot as to where you could just barely keep your nose/mouth out of the water to breathe.

It would suck to be crushed to death.

It would also suck to be crushed to death underwater.

To be in a room, 1/4 underwater, where the walls are coming in on ya.  As the room gets smaller, the water rises up and up...You would need to perfect the timing to delay drowning to be crushed to death first.

Lead enema would be terrible.  Also the idea about the tubing up the ass with barbed wire up the tube.

Being eaten to death would be terrible, funny how thats the way it is in the real world though.

Being steamed to death would suck.

Slowly steam-rolled to death would suck.

The rat/fire thing would suck.

Extremely powerful vacuum hose down your throat would also be a bummer.
