Blood in my stool(need advice!)

alright, for about a week now I have been noticing little specks of red in my stools. Sometimes a tad bit of bright red blood on the TP. Also the stool will be a regular light brown, then I see some dark brown portions on it too. I wouldn't say its black, it just seems alot darker then the majority of the product. I am 21 years of age, and I pray it is not signs of colon cancer! I freak myself out easily due to my horrible anxiety. I also have abdominal pains at times, but I can't determine if its the anxiety/stress or IBS?.

My next doctor appointment is scheduled for 2 weeks from now. I definitely plan on bringing this up. It sucks that I don't have insurance :frown:

you probably have an internal hemmerhoid, go get some preparation H and everytime you take a shit put it on, even if theres no blood, because it can come back with out use with one more big crap, it might also be smart to go see your doctor about it

Yeah, the same thing has happened a couple times to me, but has subsided recently.

I do get sharp pains in my colon from time to time and it freaks me out. I cant exactly see a doctor right now because of the drugs I take. They would put me on lock down and make me go through withdrawls.

I know I will get to a doctor in the near future and I feel I need to. My anxieties are ruining my life.

as long as you arent shitting black you are alright.

shitting black means there is dried blood in your colon, which means you are probably about to die.

I know some times when my poop is realy hard, ill get blood in it. but I think thats from the intestine walls and anus. I would only worry if there is an alarming amount of blood in it. if its just a speck here and there and its not all the time most likely your body had a hard time pushing that stuff out.

I appreciate the advice, however wouldn't the blood be black if it came from higher up?? it looks pretty bight usually. I have a little abdominal pain and I am getting it checked out tomorrow morning.

The blood would be black if you had an ulcer in your stomach.  Stomach acid starts to break it down and the result is a coffee ground looking substance.  Bright red and on the toilet paper would lead me to believe that its hemorrhoids especially if its not a ton of blood.  If its just a few specs you can wait until your dr appointment in 2 weeks.  If there's a lot of it I would goto the ER.

It's good that your going to a doctor, anytime there is blood coming out of any of your orifices you should go to a doctor, period. I know doctors are expensive and shit and it can be embarrassing, but it's always better to be poorer and alive than rich and dead.

Take it from a perpetual poor person.
