Is this Sclerotia

This mycelia mass has happened to me often over the last few years the strain in question has been identified as Transkie Cubensis, it was found on the KZN South Coast by a family member in 2003/4
The substrate used was whole maize and was cased with lime/peat/verm.
Is it Sclerotia?

Holy fuck WTF is that?  Is there any way Cubensis produce sclerotia.  I think that is some sort of contaim.

Smelled just like a mushroom, no contams.
I handed a few prints out to some growers in ZA and 1 other grower reported the same type of growth, jars of this strain that have been left for 2-3 months after full colonization in the jar also showed signs of dense mycelia masses, it bruised blue in the jar when trying to break up the corn kernels.

LoL it wasn't hard like a stone,
this was a few weeks ago i posted pics on my local site but no one could tell me what it was. I had other strains in the same FC that fruited well with no problems. I don't think the cause was environmental.

The only advantage I could see would be added weight??maybe? If it's a mutant then isn't there a chance it's low in potency? Like a genetic deformality, but i suppose it could be more potent by the same logic.

It's kinda cool looking though, you should clone it! The fact that it doesn't "look" like a mushroom could be a good thing.:wink:

yah i have got that as well they are like weird balls that grow out of sub pic that shit off though all it does is eat up nutrients, i call them mycelium potato's lol . check out my pics in this post i got same thing ----
