I tried it for my first shroomies and it worked great. Just put some damp perlite at the bottom of the soda bottle and voila. Only probleme is sometimes there isnt enough room for mushies to completly mature.

Try nabbing a giant plastic water cooler bottle. You know, the kind in office buildings. If you cut it right you can make the top fit really tight into the bottle.

It's much easier to use something like an icecream bucket or a something that can be easily opened. they're also free at the delhi and the supermarket

Actually, i'm rather surprised that it works so well from your responses, after seeing what elaborate measures some people want. i think i will use the soda bottles for now since i need something small that won't attract attention. is being sterile in the terrarium stage important, or can contam no longer gain a foothold in the substrate after the shrooms colonize it? since you have to air out the soda bottle everyday, i'm wondering if there are sterilization measures i should be aware about, or if they should be okay at that stage.
