First post! First grow! (Pics)

Hey, everyone. This is my first post. This post also happens to be concerning my first grow! It was a super cheap/impatient person's PF TEK which requires no jars or perlite (cause I couldn't find any locally, and didn't wanna wait for it to be shipped). Just get some drinking glasses, some aluminum foil, and boom! You have your "jars". Follow PF Tek as regular, and inoculate them, and substitute perlite in terrarium for wet paper towels.

The strain was b+ and I started with 4 jars/glasses. Only 3 of them grew mycelium so I guess the other one contammed. Nothing ever came from that one, bad or good. It just never moved. So I guess that's a dud. The other 3, however, did and these are the results.

That's the terrarium I have now, though the one I grew them in was much smaller. I just bought this one last night because the fruits were running out of space and hitting things. You can see the awesome paper towels keeping the humidity, and last night I also bought a plastic sink protector and reinforced it with a ruler. It hovers on 4 crumbled pieces of aluminum foil. Also, on the left there's my 3rd cake, which I took out a few days after the first two, so that one should be pinning soon.

This first cake has a lot of fruits, but not a lot have matured. I only took off like 4 or so from this cake who's veil had broken or was breaking. Leaving them in for a bit longer until the rest "grow up".

Second cake has less fruits but larger, and more mature ones. I took the majority of these off with the exception of 4 or 5 smaller ones still growing.

I see a lot of pictures of shrooms against lighters to show size. I just had a mini (2 inch) lighter, so I put it against that. I think it makes for a cool optical illusion. Like the shrooms are ENORMOUS and are going to attack the lighter's town and devour it and turn it into compost....like some sort of shroom Godzilla......SHROOMZILLA!

All in all, I think it's pretty good for a first time. I wasn't expecting much, especially since everyone says not to. I'm very happy with this and hope to get a few more good flushes out of these cakes, and then move on to grains. I'm gonna start posting a lot more, and posting more grow logs as well, so keep an eye out for me! :wink:
