They look good man.  You plan on using them for a journey or just for decoration purposes?

Peyote, in my opinion was meant to be eaten.  Im in the process of building a collection large enough to harvest perpetually.  I should have enough by the spring.

Why would you eat such beautiful cacti, especially the 10cm one which must have been growing for ages!

Did you grow these from seed or did you buy them close to this size.

Save a Loph eat a Trich!

I have purchased all of these in the last 2 months.  I got such a good deal on most of them there is no reason why I shouldest eat them.  I have  atleast 100 buttons total and I only plan on havesting the ugly ones.  I also Know a harvesting tek that allows the plant to grow back its crown in 1-2 years.

It will pup if not cut too low, but that detracts from the natural beauty of the plant. T. bridgesii is just as consistent with mesc %, but it's your choice.

If you cut the whole button off it will pup.  If you leave the center of the plant intact it will  repair itself very quickly and grow new skin and flesh.  In 1 -2 years time your button will be about the smane size as when you cut it.

I suspected as much.

If you took the time to grow them I think you'd have a little more appreciation on how incredibly slow they are.

Just saying

Trichs are a far better outlet if your hungry for mescaline.

You're saying it will grow from the center of the button if you cut it down directly to the root?

It grows from the center out filling in where you cut

:shake: Whatever mate, mescaline is the primary ingredient of the Lophophora Williamsii, and can be found in trichs.

I think that would be like raising a puppy to slaughter it for fun, just doesn't make much sense to me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, these are living things not commodities put here for your amusement and pleasure.

Show some real respect for the plant and grow it for its life and not your own.

I will and it will be marvelous

EDIT:
And don't think I'm singling you out either, I do this to many people who discuss loph consumption.

There is just no point when you have a non-threatened and faster growing supply of the SAME chemicals.

A lot of people on this board feel similarly too, it just makes 0 sense.

I also don't take too well to somebody coming on here and immediately flaming me once posting my opinion just as you got to post yours.

I'm just asking questions.

AND to follow what is so bad about loving nature or plants?

What is so negative about respecting the life of a living thing?

Tell me when you find the answer, I truly am interested.

um... i see nothing wrong with consuming peyote. sure, trichs are always there, and sure, trichs are always lacking. i'd rather harvest two 3 year old buttons than chop 2 feet of rainbow bridge. and though brigesii is close to lw, it is NOT the same.

if you want to consume lophs, it's easy to shorten the 20 year wait to 3 years. germ seeds, graft to pereskiopsis spathulata, regraft to myrtillocactus geometrizans or trichocereus sp., degraft, root, and grow for one year on own roots. you can grow softball sized lophs in three years this way.

I truly respect the plant but its not like a puppy it has no face or pulse.  It was created for use to consume.

If you're say that is what it takes to make something alive, water your lophs twice a day for a month and tell me if they die.

And it was created to live just anything with a life has been created to do.

i started with 3 good seedlings and 6 months later had over 100 buttons, grafted and not.... they have a tendency to multiply, and are most certainly not rare or endangered in captivity :p

And I'm sure they're all beautiful plants.

Why not keep them like that?

I personally am against consuming anything that isn't destined to die in the near future.

Just my personal preference, I'm just creating debate not imposing a ban on peyote consumption.
