Just don't use windows update and wait for service packs instead. That wouldn't work for a mission-critical installation but for home use it's fine.

Sometimes the service packs wont install on a cracked version.
They especially check for the serial against a blacklist.

I didn't know that :frown:

Oh wait, I vaguely remember having to change serial to install XP SP1. It wasn't too difficult.

That's a bit of an overkill.

Plus not sure it would work as the client OS would still complain they are cracked after the updates are installed.

it was a joke

Right, because switching operating systems is easier than installing a service pack.

the things with cracking MS operating systems now a days is that you cant install updates without it knowing its cracked.

www.windizupdate.com

use this to updated even cracked versions.  It is a mirror setup for people that won't use IE, since microsoft forces you to use it to use their web update.  This mirror tells the legit servers that the update is being downloaded over IE to a legitimate windows copy, even if neither are true.

Or, you could quit worrying abotu paying for anything or having to work all the time at keeping it cracked/updated and just download a better OS.

peace

switching operating systems is most definitely easier than installing a service pack on a **cracked** copy of windows.  To use windows for free vs. other free alternatives, windows is most definitely a pain in the ass.  If you like paying out the ass for your OS, then it is much easier to keep updated than a cracked copy.

peace
