I can't believe what I just did
    #10934663 -

Joined the Military - and now I'm spazzing out about it, I think I'll get out before I get in too deep. I am so bad at making big decisions, what the fuck was I thinking, but what else is there to do?

It's worth the hell you're about to go through.

Typically one asks himself these questions and makes sure they are comfortable signing away their life for a few years before signing away their life for a few years.

he is probably just having anxiety about his decision.  Since making it I am sure he has thought of many upcoming situations that he will not have control of.

OP, do not regret your choice.

Not really my thing, but you'll definitely gain a lot from the military.  You'll be in better shape, if anything.  Once you get past bootcamp I hear they don't treat you like shit as much.  Good luck!

Everything the recruiter said to you was a lie

My brother-in-law join the navy for some mechanical shit and was told he would stay stateside.....and Bam! he found out half way through boot camp he was going to Pakistan or Afghanistan before Xmas.

Some paki spitting in his face on a Kabol streetcorner might be good for him...he is a stumpy, whiney, bitch.

Why the fuck did you do that?! Signing over my free will to a morally challenged behemoth doesn't sound like a positive experience to me.

no, that was me talking about the military and yes, at first expect to be treated like shit because your a civilian, it's the worst thing you can possibly be in the military eye's from what I hear, I went to marine cadets which itself was pretty hard for the age but whatever, if you're a hard worker then you're fine but if your a dog fucker they won't like you or me.

It's not uncommon to get cold feet after making a major decision like this. It doesn't mean you necessarily made the wrong choice though. Most people who come out of the military view it as a positive experience overall.

You may get a few snarky comments from the hippie types but I have nothing but respect for the men and women in uniform who protect our way of life. :salute:

12 is right. I didn't mean to give flack, military is great and I would join if I didn't already have my life figured out.

Dont be a fucking pussy. You're already in, so make the fucking best of it. Give up all drugs while you are in (except maybe mushrooms) and soar to the top.

Remember this, if you aren't the best you can be, you will end up dead

Sounds lame, and ignorant of people's natural abilities.

What branch, what MOS? Being a cook in the Navy and being an infantryman in the Army are as different as night and day.
