need info Australians with diabetes

Hey people,

I have diabetes type 1 and i will go backpacking for a year down under.
The problem is that my insurance will only cover the costs of insulin relative to what it costs in my own country.
So if i buy fast working insulin in Holland for 120 euros they will only compensate that much. if its more expensive in Australia i have to pay the extra myself.

So i ask how much does it cost there? this way i can calculate how much that joke is gonna cost me.

your help is GREATLY appreciated!

Australia is fairly good and cheap with medication. You may need to pay full price for things because Medicare won't cover you but it should be still reasonable. If you come from America... you guys have a rip off shitty fucked up health system. 1000 bucks just to see a doctor in hospital???

haha im not from America (thankgod) we have a universal health care so i dont have to pay anything.

Insulin is about 120 euro here. this is what it costs here if we would have to pay ( i have no clue why they leave that on the meds perhaps to impress us? )
if it was 140 in Australia they compensate for 120 like they do back home. and i only have to pay 20 myself. But i need to know how much it costs there.
