study abroad in amsterdam, netherlands

seriously considering it after this first semester ends, i don't think i could make it here up north .. i already miss my florida weather. :omgz:

what could be better than hanging out with some of the most friendly people in the unified nation of holland..

out of all the places i have been the netherlands appealed to me the most not even because of the pot that surrounds part of the culture..

anyone ever done study abroad in a different country?

i'm seriously considering it, the people were sooooooo friendly their ~ ! out of anywhere i've been to be honest..

i definitley want to do a semester in amsterdam or even if its outside the ams, maybe like rotterdam or lieden(sp?)

and the girls.......wow.

but the euro :foreheadslap: ahhhhhhhhhh

anyone have any other experience?

If you plan on studying, I wouldn't recommend it. If you don't plan on learning a lot from school, then go for it.

Well, you can't just up and go.
You have to plan in advance if you want to study abroad. So it's more realistic for you to go next fall or spring.
Where do you go to school?

well yeah i guess i should've added that, it will be for a semester in the spring most definitley.

i'm up north its a huuuuuuge change from flowwda.. bitches are down to earth up hurrrreee.

If you can choose between Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Leiden. Choose Leiden. No doubt. By far the best of the three. The university there is also really good. True student city. I spent 2 weeks in Leiden a while back. Staying at a friend's place. Had an awesome time. Leiden is like Amsterdam in some ways but smaller and without all the bullshit.

Other good options would be Nijmegen, Utrecht or Maastricht. Also cities with loads of students and a friendly atmosphere. To tell you the truth, apart from Rotterdam I would choose any of those cities over Amsterdam. Also keep in mind that prices in Amsterdam tend to be double compared to the rest of The NL.

i would have never known that leiden was that way, is their still coffeshops & clubs as in most of NL?

if you saying this about leiden than i could only imagine how it is. because amsterdam was the best place i have ever been to.

to jewunit; i guess so i doubt the application deadline for study abroad is past. semester just started here.

Plenty of coffeeshops (more than 10). Plenty of clubs.

Also you're probably a freshman. I doubt they let freshman study abroad.
If you can, cool, but I'd recommend waiting until next year.

impressive , i love the architecture over their in NL. its like nothing i've laid my eyes on, and some of the best i've laid my eyes on definitley.
