I am a thread killer.

...and I admit it. :sad:

I don't know what it is. I can't make a thread that gets more than a few replies. Sometimes I'll pop in a thread and say something and it just dies.

I don't criticize anyone, make absurd or asinine comments, troll, or anything like that. Even things like congratulating someone, saying cheers, etc.

It's been happening for awhile now and I'm a very senior member. It seems most threads were very active (we're talking 5 minutes tops), very old re-activated threads, and even threads that become huge later on. It seems like my post brings everything to a dead stop. Either for awhile or for good.

And it's messed up if no one replies to this. :tongue:




Anyone else ever feel this way...?

I feel this way totally whenever I post something no1 else posts after me I dunno why

The point that you're missing here is that my posts have some type of substance, congratulatory response, informational, helpful, silly, sometimes very odd, etc. Whatever reason I feel like I always kill threads. It's driving me nuts. I'm almost at the point of becoming a lurker it's pissing me off so bad.

Maybe that is why people don't say much after you.

If you don't give people the opportunity to give you advice, congratulate, or abuse you, then you're limiting their ability to connect with you, so it's easier not to.

Try communicating in a different way and see what response (if any) you get.

I've thought the same thing about my posting, but it is way, way down on my list of things to care about. If you really want a response, just say "Hey, f*ckers, respond to me!"

If you're a senior member, as you say, you undoubtedly are the last poster often just because of the sheer number of your posts. You may have noticed this trend, then focused on it to the point where it has been blown out of proportion.

It's like one of my friends who is really funny who said about his humor "I say so many things some of them are bound to be funny"

Otherwise, maybe your posting in the wrong subforums or in the wrong threads. If I go to certain subforums I don't get much attention and if I post in threads that I don't really have a "knack" for, it's usually a flop.

I used to care about this...now I don't for some reason. I guess I realized it wasn't important. I kind of come and go from the shroomery though, which I think helps. Maybe take a break?

Just don't worry about it.

I kill threads all the time. Just watch this one sink to the bottom now.
