An idea to make a few extra bucks.......your opinions

I have a bunch of friends that don't have a car
so I make a lil $$$ from them by giving them rides.

I live in a small town of less than 5000 people
and we don't have any form of public transportation
I was thinking about putting some fliers around town
at the laundry-mat and maybe some of the appartments
offering locals a ride in town for a small price
starting at $5-10 for a simple trip around town
I could even give rides to the next town if needed

Is there any kind of legal issues I should be aware of
I probably won't make more than $50 a week if I make anything

I don't live in your country but I would imagine you would need different vehicle insurance to carry paying customers.

Probably don't charge the same as cab companies do. I would charge considerably less.

5-10 dollars is probably good.
Just fuckin start driving them guy around yo!

Here's an idea that would help get around the extra insurance and chauffer's license thing - you could advertise that you are available to run errands for folks.

I live in a small town, too, and I know plenty of people who would be willing to pay someone else to pick up groceries - or drive them around so they can pick them up. I think if you advertise it as an errand running service, you can circumvent the whole insurance issue, at least on the surface.

W/e you do, if your going to hand out flyers then make sure you get a business license, they're only $20.

I mowed lawns last summer for a lil cash
Never got a license to do it though :uhoh:

courier, it may avoid some licensing and insurance increases

Wal-Mart is the biggest thing going here
and I don't thing they would do the courier thing

typically couriers transport packages, sometimes they transport people

it's nothing more than a means to circumvent the huge increase for
a taxi bond and permits, in GA the bond now starts at $5mil, you do
have the option here of self insuring after that

if you're looking to make some extra cash by driving your car, why not deliver pizzas? my buddy averages about $75 a day and gets free pizza.
