anyone a doctor?

i dont have insurance right now, but

i have these bruises developing on both sides of my legs, near my groin spreading out.

many small bruise dots the size of half a dime, some the size of a 'half-dollar'. the 2 biggest ones are bruises but shaped like a ring..

wtf..?

i never hit them, they just appeared out of nowhere, they hurt when u touch em, and they seem to itch.


anyone have any ideas?

weird man, i have a single little one of those on my arm right now. doesn't really make sense.

The only reason you ever get 'random bruising' is because of a low blood cell count aka you are currently anemic, and apparently it is happening around that area of your body currently shown by bruising. There are MANY reasons this could be happening though otherwise, not trying to scare you but it can sometimes be the onset of some diseases like leukemia.

You really, really should go see a doctor as I am not one but know enough about medical care to safely say you could be on the verge of death without proper care.

Edit: and also, how long have they been appearing for? If it's been for a long period of time, you probably are just anemic, which isn't really bad but not exactly deadly lol, and if a massive amount of bruising appeared over a short period of time - go see a doctor.

okay, i once was anemic before because of heavy drug abuse.

umm..

so is there anything i can do right now, to boost the blood count? certain foods?

i think they all appeared today, actually my other leg didn't show any but i scratched it and they appeared within like 30 minutes

Depending on how severe the anemia is depends on the treatment you get I believe and you could probably try searching around the 'net for stuff like that, I don't have much of an idea of home remedies per se. My cousin is/was really badly anemic from birth so I should know what to tell you lol but the only real helpful advice I can give is go see a doctor anyways :shrug:

or wait a day or two, but that could be horrible advice.

Are they less purple than bruises, more reddish and comprised of many small dots? I have that. 1st doc though it was a fungal infection because of the circular form.  Anti-fungals didn't work.  Went to a specialist, they said psoriasis, gave me a steroid creme and a vitamin D creme.  It comes and goes, has moved down the legs from the groin, tends to be more pronounced when stress is high. 

If this is indeed what you have, there's nothing to worry about.  Perhaps an OTC steroid like cortezon (sp.?) would do the trick.

well i have no choice, i cant go to a doc now, but i appreciate the info, that may be the case, i hope not, but it's happened once before.

guess ill pop some sort of multi-vitamin in the mean time.

it looks kinda like a regular bruise, but there is this feint yellowish 'nicotine-colored', 'hue' ? or 'tint' to it.


there are some dots around em, they all vary in size, actually the bruise themselves could be more reddish or pinkish kinda, they are not as dark as a normal bruise.

anemia means you need more iron, more than anything...it's not good to take too much, and it's better to get it from food sources, but yeah...more iron

Capillaries can burst for other reasons causing the same exact appearance, how can you possibly say its from anemia? 

While yes, anemia is possible, so is infection, heavy metal poisoning, etc.

A fungus was my first thought, too.  You should be able to get OTC fungal cremes that might help.

Can't hurt to do all three at once man.  Eat some more iron, drink lots of water, and try some anti-fungal creme.

Pretty much anytime something is going funky with my body I load up on fluids and just force myself to drink lots of water, juice, and milk.  Being able to flush your system is VERY important in your body, and I'm sure being adequately hydrated helps with bloodflow.

If you try this shit out and still don't get results and it gets worse, definitely suck it up, break out the wallet, and see a doctor.

you can give yourself a quick anemia check by squeezing your fingertips, if underneath your fingernail turns white and takes a while to get it's color back, you might be anemic
