If your a well grounded person psychedelics can have a much positive benefit on your psyche.

I've read of people taking hundreds of hits of acids and living through it. Like someone said above, it's psychological issues that need to be addressed. If you suffering from some form of mental issues, it's probably best to stay away.

I wholeheartedly agree, but everyone has a limit.  Trip everyday for a few years then stop and see how well you function.  I know I have a limit and make a conscious effort to not surpass it

I know a guy who actually got fucked for life (talks to himself all the time, doesn't really know what's going on, etc) because when he was a kid somebody spiked his drink with BAD acid. Chances are he was schizophrenic to begin with, but the emphasis is on BAD acid. At least that's the story I was told by multiple [drug-using] family members of his. I just thought I'd put that out there.

But if you stick with the safe substances, as long as you know what you're doing you've got nothing to worry about, not where "frying your brain" is concerned anyways. In short, "traditional" psychedelics do not fry your brain. It's research chemicals and ecstasy, etc, where these concerns would really come into play.

I just wouldn't do LSD too often, personally...it leaves you a little cloudy-headed afterwards. I wouldn't NOT do it, where there are other substances I'd rather not do...I just would take care to do it in moderation.

What is BAD acid? I don't understand this. I know bad heroin can kill someone who directly injects it into their bloodstream, but bad acid? Do you mean bad trip?

I've had unclean acid that made my inner organs hurt, where clean acid didn't. It's a chemical that only experts are qualified to make, so I'm sure where it's unavailable and somebody has the bright idea to try to make some, there are plenty of things that can go wrong.

actually...yes... BAD ACID... watch the woodstock film...they are broadcasting over the loadspeaker warning people that there is a BAD ACID going around (not all of it, just the "brown acid"), and that medical teams are on stand-by to help.

That would be a disturbing thing to hear while tripping. Espeacilly back then when more people believed in that kind of thing.

Agreed.

Everyone knows a guy who knows a guy whose friend took a psychedelic one too many times and turned into a babbling lunatic or a glass of orange juice or thought there were bugs under his skin so he cut himself opened with a jelly knife.

You should be careful and responsible and remember that you're dealing with powerful drugs that can surely fuck with your mind, but don't listen to the horror stories like that.

It was specifically the "brown acid"...I'm guessing that meant the blotter paper was brown. It has nothing to do with belief...people who took it got sick, end of story.

as far as bad things to hear on acid, they were also going around with megaphones saying "there is no such thing as a bad trip", which is :thumbup:

I could imagine people getting sick if you told them that the acid they took was dangerous. Perfect bad trip material.

NO. It's THE OTHER WAY AROUND.  Here is an example: How do you know a certain batch of bottled water is bad? Not by telling people it's bad , and them making themselves sick from belief, but by a bunch of people going to the doctor, and the one thing they all had in common was they drank the same batch of water. Common sense.

Why else would they be warning against ONE SPECIFIC batch?, while still telling people there is no such thing as a bad trip

I know chemistry well enough that I'm sure I could make it if I didn't mind the risk, you don't have to be that trained.  Infact, LSD synthesis is really quite straight forward.  "...has the right idea to try to make some, there are plenty of things that can go wrong" yes, and end up with a pile of gunk that does absolutely nothing psychedelic nor would it be neurotoxic.

Thanks for the helpful information guys, but yea I watched that video of Woodstock where the "brown acid" was going around and they told everyone about it, talk about crasiness, thats EXACTLY what I'm not trying to hear while trippin...

People make mistakes and i could easily see someone panicking and developing psychosomatic symptoms if they were vulnerable and you were blasting into their mind with a megaphone that the acid they took could cause severe medical problems.

well still, it could have been people were just having bad trips and syaing it was the brown acid's fault, so I retract all my statements. You win, I fail, pat yourself on the backs

liviodoublefang...there's nothing to worry about...the "unclean" acid i had was the most carefree, hilarious, funnest time I ever had, and it was after a REALLY shitty day...so I really wouldn't worry about it
