I'm about to go take a court ordered chemical dependency test.

If I answer honestly they will label me as "dependent" because I smoke weed every day, and the outcome of being labeled "dependent" means UA's for a year.  Do I lie or do I tell the truth?

lie, theres no reason to put your self in that situation. Im about to go through the same thing my friend. I feel your pain. But im already looking at UA's, if i answer "truthfully" ill have to deal with substance abuse counseling...for pot.

Honestly unless you will feel bad about lieing to the cops (which you shouldn't), there is no benefit to telling the truth and there is a HUGE downside.

I'm thinking if he lies too much they'll do the UA's for a year.

I doubt that the test is being given strictly so they can decide how frequently to administer drug screens.

It sounds like something done before someone is ordered into an outpatient rehab program.

Pretty much dead on. Not sure where OP is located, but down here in florida any drug charge resulting in probation/pre-trial diverson, and you have a mandatory drug abuse evaluation. There they will determine how addicted you are, and how much of a habitual user you are. They can descide to send you to classes, counseling, in or out paitent rehab...and all sorts of other horrible things. I have to go in next month for a paraphanelia charge...I dont plan on telling them i smoke pot every day and have been eating all sorts opainkillers Darvocet,Proproxyphene, and Oxycodoe) like candy for the last 2 weeks...:rofl:

yea lie to em man, i litterally just got out of all that bullshit, I had to go through fuckin classes and group therapy as well as fucking one on one sessions.  And I only told them I smoked weed a few times a month. Fuckin sucks, time consuming and money and shit. :thumbdown:

If you would have said that you never smoked and you were found guilty of a crime that you didn't commit,

I bet they'd still send your ass to class.

If you told them that you've seen the light and are currently spending all your free time in NA meetings and church,

all my dependency test consisted of on probation was "how often do you smoke" (once a month.. :lol:) then I was made to take an 8 hour drug abuse class and nothing else in that field.
