Is there any possible way I could go to the store and pick up some shiitake, portabella or button mushrooms, and somehow turn them into spore prints/syringes/LC to use at a later time?

... however, more often than not, store bought mushrooms won't produce cultures that are vigorous or fruit well. One word: senescence.

I would say the easiest way is to buy live cultures from sponsors or spawn vendors. If you want really interesting samples and these edibles grow naturally in the wild, go for a hike and bring some equipment.
