Nature can fruit better than I... (P. nameko)
    #10743164 -

This block of Pholiota nameko was put into my fruiting chamber back in May. After over a month with no action the temps were hitting the 80's (way above the "fruiting temps" for nameko) and I decided to make space in the chamber for more projects.

After sitting outside in the shade for over a month it finally decided to fruit on it's own!

Here's the block after I peeled away the top of the bag:

Made one real nice cluster!

Temps had been in the low 80's for a couple weeks and it started pinning exactly as a 3 day streak of cool weather moved through. Seems the mushrooms could sense the coming change and sprouted. Ahh... Nature.

Cheers,
-DD

I have fresh free range chicken eggs daily. Would you like to come over for breakfast sometime?

I've also had much better luck with P nameko by fruiting it outdoors, especially in the spring and fall rainy season.

Thing with Nameko is that they need to be fruited practically in a cloud.  We had the mister fans on 24/7 for them.  So much water that it was raining from the roof.  If you can't see the moisture suspended in the air then they just didn't want to. Outside though give em some good weather and badabing. I love Nameko!
