maybe a couple of fluoro tubes, I've done single phase and 3 phase
recently wired my barn and ran power too it because the power
company wanted to charge me for what they claimed to be a free
service if under 1500 feet in addition to the $75/mo charge just
for being hooked to the grid

I ran a 500 trench 5 feet deep with power and water and it only
cost me $80 more than the power company was charging

Yeah, the power company would probably want a meter on it.

There is still no way they should charge so much for hanging triplex cable.

2-3% of their cost, then they said full price and I said fuck off

so any word on this.  If you bathroom is out it is probably your GFCI because they tend to branch circuits such as bedrooms off of it.  Their is probably only one GFCI and it is probably located in the bathroom.  (assuming you have one bathroom)

(if it is the gfci, it doesn't necessarily mean their is a problem.  they go bad all the time.  its a common flaw with them)

If not check your AFCI (arc fault circuit interupter) in your bedroom assuming you have one.

Just because none of the breakers appear to be tripped doesn't mean that their isn't one tripped either.  Just recently the other day i had one pop, and it was the breaker itself.  i had to wire it into my electric heater circuit for now until i go and buy another 20A breaker.  <--  it does not appear to be tripped.

Do you live in a trailer?  trailers are known for using too small of a wire, which can tend to burn out.  if that is the issue then you might have to have someone trace it back.

Lights do not have to be on a separate breaker,  they could be run in a loop off of an outlet.  people do it for living rooms all the time.  they are also called half-hots.

+ 10 points for telling someone who calls the main panel ....the big ol electro box to work on his own electricity with multimeters and metal screw drivers..........
Just make shure you have a smoke detector installed in the house and a buddy with a wooden broomstick to help you.

I would recomend atleast to go buy a home how to wire book that atleast lists all the cautions and what to do and not do....you might be fine and careful  or you could be someone who needs all tools hid from them,I dont know...:shrug:

ok so i got a ohm meter i can borrow from a friend and none of the outlets that are out are in my bathroom but wtf is a afci?

you should have a volt meter not an ohm meter.  if you plug that in when their is power you will pop your fuse.  I wouldn't advise messing around with sticking prongs in outlets unless you know what you are doing.  so lets take the safe route.

my next guess would be power everything down like you PC, TV, anything electronic and manually flip each breaker from the on position to the off, then back to the on.

and if that doesn't work we will go from their.
