finally high off of fentanyl...yay + TOOL IN CONCERT

Backstory:

My dad spent a night at a friend's house in Salt Lake City, which is just 30 miles from this fucked up little city. He came back this morning to get his motorcycle and chill with my dad for a bit. He somehow gets a hold of Duragesic patches ALL THE FUCKING TIME (lucky bastard) and shares with me 'cos my dad's more of an upper guy and he knows I'm in lurve with opiates.

However, I've never felt very euphoric on it. Different, but not fucked up. Probably because I have a weird relationship with opiates.

Anyway, I was trying to get some H today for the Tool concert I went to (WHOO!! IT WAS SO MOTHERFUCKING AWESOME!!!), but something happened to my guy (after I gave him the cash, no less) and he STILL hasn't gotten back to me. Anyway, I found the patch just chilling in my basement with all the gel squeezed out. But, as we all know, you can chew on that shit, and that's what I've been doing.

That, added with a nasty way of retrieving heroin from the baggies it comes in that I finally perfected, has got me pretty fucked up. The reclaimed heroin got me buzzed but what really got me up here was the fentanyl. Think it has something to do with a synergistic effect?

Anyway, yay for me. This shit is nice. I was beginning to think that it was one of the opiates I have a ridiculous tolerance to (like Hydrocodone, Codeine, and oddly enough Morpmine. Really. My theory is my blood-brain barrier is harder for it to cross for some reason so heroin works but morphine just makes me itch).

Oh and once again, Tool was awesome, although it was kind of short. Here's the set list in the order that I remember.

Jambi
Stinkfist (with extended interlude)
Forty-Six & 2
Noodling
Schism
Lost Keys (Blame Hoffman)
Rosetta Stoned
Flood
Lateralus
Ambient noise I call "Alien Abduction"
Vicarious

"Alien Abduction" is called that because during, they shine these lights on the crowd that look like some sort of alien device (at least in context with the music) scouting the crowd for...something. You'd just have to see it (people who've seen 'em live probably know what I'm talking about."

They didn't do an encore and I found it really fucking strange that they didn't end with Ænema like they did the other two times. Also, that's a pretty short set list. Both of the other concerts I went to were at least 2 hours long, this was like 85 minutes. Also, the "Energy Solutions-"(fucking company bought that place out and changed the name. It's really the Delta Center)"-Arena" has horrible acoustics. Bass resonates really well. Too well. Drowns out everything else because the mid-range frequencies get fucking killed in the metal work that supports the roof. Which means the only instrument that sounds decent is the drums (they sound great, actually) and the guitar (if it's heavily distorted). Bass is too muddy to hear what's going on and the vocals get so lost sometimes that you can't tell if someone's singing or not. Oh and the engineers were fucking up a LOT (forgetting to change the mix while the song was going, forgetting to turn on mics when instruments came back in from a mid-song break), which was really fucking stupid.

Oh well, though. It was sick as fuck and I feel cleansed. There's a solidarity at Tool concerts I never feel anywhere else. And I feel like I'm coming to the end of a metamorphosis that's been really painful but really good for me, ultimately.

H for sure. Much more euphoria. H is the inanimate love of my life.  I might try shooting up fentanyl because that's by far the best way to do opiates, but it is really fucking hard to measure out a dose of that shit...Plus I never get a patch to myself.

Fuck no. Dilaudid is the best opiate I've had, even more than H. But then again, I've only had it once and it was my first opiate experience. Like I said, Hydrocodone and Morphine have never worked on me. So, it was in my medical records that I had a very high tolerance to opiates.

In January, my chronic appendicitis went acute. While I was waiting for the results of my C/T scan to come back, they decided they had to do something for the pain because I was writhing in my bed, grunting and moaning. The ER doctor told me beforehand that he was giving me the largest dose someone of my weight could handle without dying. He stuck the needle in my IV and took about 5 minutes to administer it because he said at that dose even giving it like a quick, normal shot could make me lose consciousness and risk an OD.

What followed was so amazing, I hardly know how to describe it. A brilliant warmth flowed through my body, purifying everything it touched. No more pain, no more worries, just a pure lust for life.

That's the dragon I chase, my friend.
