Today I found some lovely orange mushrooms growing out of a stump in the panhandle of Florida. I've found cubes and blue meanies easy to identify, but gymnopilus seems to be a more obscure type. the mushrooms i found are reluctant to sporulate, and orange all over. gills of random lengths are connected to the stems, and don't appear very crowded. The largest one (3 inches tall, 1.5 diameter cap) has a much thicker concave cap, the smaller ones are nearly as tall, but smaller overall (1 inch caps, thinner stems) and convex... they grew in a very dense cluster, and the ones on the bottom have almost white gills, as opposed to the rich orange color of the ones on the surface... their stems look kinda fibrous, and what appeared to be a greenish bruise on one has faded to a brownish color with what is (possibly?) a green sheen. what can i do to make them sporulate? any other details that would help ID them? help is greatly appreciated. i'm trying to borrow a camera as i type this.

To spore print, try putting a drop of water on the caps and then covering with a glass or cup.

i think there is a very faint white spore print under one of the mushrooms that was less exposed (the ones from the bottom of the mass, with lighter gills) which means.... inactive i'm guessing? also, am i supposed to apply water to the GILLS in order to make them print better, or to the CAPS?
