First fruiting...Shrooms growing weird..help

Well my shrooms are growing pretty good on my cakes. But my problem is that they seem to be growing very fat. The stem seems fatter than the cape. What's the deal with this?? They aren't not aborts since they grow more everyday. I just can't figure out why they don't have the shape of others i've seen. The cap is there but not really defined as a seperate thing...except for it's color. Thanks

Don't worry about it. This happens from time to time. I've had some pretty wierd looking flushes. Hows your humidity? They might just be really water logged. I wouldn't worry about it at all though, this won't bother potency. You might have to split them down the center to dry those fat buggers though. L8rs.

My buddys friend was having the same problem with his first time growing. Basically the answer that everyone gave us is tough shit, they do that. The shrooms should still be good to eat though:)

I'm wondering are you fruiting them in the dark? I haven't done much shroom growing still trying to get some good myco to throw on a substrate.

Helped me out! I was using a 40w Incandescent bulb, and my little friends are doing the same thing. Time to get a CFL!
