You are right, we can never know for sure.

It is like if we were out walking around and you said you saw a bobcat and I insisted it was a cougar because it was larger than a coyote.

I'm still sure it is a Panaeolus. Gills like that don't drop brown spores.

No, I really think that the chances that this is a Panaeolina are slim to none.
