looks similar to a golden chantrelle but then of course Im probably wrong

Not a Chantarelle. Looks like an old, sloppy specimen of Paxillus involutus, a common poisonous species.

I got you beat for cool looking mushrooms recently found. Earlier today, while hiking on Mt. Hood, I found a purple mushroom. It was the coolest looking thing I have ever seen, I wish I took a picture. I doubt it was psychadelic, but it shure looked like it should be with it's colors.

I admit it, Im a fungal-feliac :wink:
