Latuca Serriola or Prickly Lettuce

I'm no expert on Phalaris though.

That's Lactuca serriola.  It looks similar to virosa, but is not nearly as active, if at all. Still edible, so you could throw it on salads and stuff.  Real virosa will have rounded leaves that lack spines on the underside.  It should grow in roughly the same conditions, so keep looking.  Go read the erowid experiences on Latuca, some people have gotten pretty strong opium-like effects with extraction.

Also, that grass is not any of the Phalaris noted for DMT content, and am pretty certain it's in a different genus altogether. Then again, I am no grass expert. At any rate, Phalaris is a really poor source of DMT because of the gramine risk.  With wild collected grasses, you're playing Russian roulette with the genetics, and hoping you get one that has high DMT, and low gramine. But it's just as likely that you could get plants with hardly any DMT, and tons of gramine.  Be very careful and do your research.

ok thanks for the ID I'll look for round leaves. Why is serriola not as active I thought they contained pretty much the same stuff?

Unless you have a forest, forget about it.
