Could mycelium colonize a live potato?

Say I cut a small chuck out of a white potato and filled it with colonized WBS, would it consume the potato?

pc the tater in a pint jar before you start, and keep it in the jar.  I would think a potato would dry out, maybe not even make it through the pc, hmm.

What if you just try it and let us know how it turns out?

Edit- if you are going to grind a potato, you might as well use instant potato flakes. Same thing.
