Which is worse: a blatantly over the top movie like this that no one can take seriously, or one that tries to be a meaningful pseudo-documentary, spouting a bunch of a hippy cliches about 2012 being a spiritual evolution for man? The latter is what I thought this movie was before I watched the trailer, and I'm actually glad it was the former.

Movies will always be false representations of the subject's they are trying to portray. I have no problem with this, but its quite funny that every movie that comes out there will be a certain social group that says something along the lines of "I can't believe they are making a movie about this, its complete bullshit, they havent the slightest."  It happens to everyone, and that is Hollywood.

The trailer actually left me wanting to see the movie, it might be a little over the top but shit its a movie about the end of the world or some type of doomsday scenario, over the top fits pretty well.

I'll go see it.

I can see this leading to alot of correction of misleaded individuals. I'm sure people will think the 2012 myths originated from the movie, because some people just don't know much about certain subjects. This might cause them to do some research though, nothing wrong with giving people a little bit to think on. People who take the movie literally may be disappointed when the world doesn't end in 2012 though.
