yea, wasps are definitely creepier

I've never been stung by a wasp though...anyone with experience wanna comment on how their stings compare to yellow jackets?

They hurt more and make whatever limb I got stung in to swell up like a muthafucka.

ive been stung a few times by wasps but i have no idea what a yellow jacket is

wasp and bee stings feel the same to me but bees stings kind of throb if you dont get the sting out, then it goes away after a few minutes and i might have a kind of itch like a mossy bite lefy from it

i used to catch bees by their wings from flowers when i was a kid and tie little messages with cotton string and paper on them and theyd fly away with a message
'fuck you'

this one time, at band camp....

I was rock climbing and fought with a Cicada Killer while 20 feet up. I lost my grip, and fell the whole goddamn way down. For those of you who don't know what these god forsaken bastards are, here is one with an envelope for size reference.

Cicada Killer: 1
Me: 0

But no seriously. That's a true story.

Afterward, I found out they rarely sting, and sometimes even allow themselves to be handled. :downswords:

Goddamn it. Fuck bees.

You're ready for bigger prey. Giant asian hornet? I think.

We have something similar to that picture around here, except its bright orange..Maybe a European hornet? Pretty rare but you know to dive to the bottom of the pool and hold your breath and hope its gone when you pop back up lol

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus.
All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the
octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV.
But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns.
Also he got a race car.
Is any of this getting through to you?

i got a cage mouse trap and i caught a mouse today and filled up a bucket of water with the hose then threw the little wire mesh cage trap to drown the fella.

the piece of cheese has been on there for a good 3 months. Third mouse its got. I just started it yestaurday too. so I'm sure I'll be gettin a whole family to drown.

I like animals and havn't tripped for a long while. maybe im cruel.

The mouse was only moving for a max 20 seconds.

touching any of these insects or animals I wouldn't do. Just don't know what shit they got on em.

I had one of those japanese hornets fly into my car while doing 60mph in rush hour traffic on an unfamiliar stretch of highway that was a nightmare of construction barrels and concrete barriers. It came through the window and immediately disappeared somewhere in my car. All I could hear was an enraged buzzing coming from god-knows-where.

Scary as fuck.

lol

My buddy got stung by a Japanese bear-bee (that's what they called it) when we were staying with our host family at their cabin on Mt. Fuji.  You should've seen his face as our non-English-speaking host grandma sucked the blood out of his sting with this thing.

Unless you live in Japan, it wasn't a Japanese Giant Hornet. The ginormotron bee in the US is the same bug that DaVinci was talking about, the Cicada Killer. Fuckers get like 2 inches long. They always scared the shit out of me as a kid... Well, they still do, really.

Huh... Apparently they're not dangerous though:

Quote:
Although cicada killers are large, female cicada killer wasps are not aggressive and rarely sting unless they are grasped roughly, stepped upon with bare feet, or caught in clothing, etc. One author who has been stung indicates that, for him, the stings are not much more than a "pinprick"[2]. Males aggressively defend their perching areas on nesting sites against rival males but they have no sting. Although they appear to attack anything which moves near their territories, male cicada killers are actually investigating anything which might be a female cicada killer ready to mate. Such close inspection appears to many people to be an attack, but male and female cicada killers don't land on people and attempt to sting. If handled roughly females will sting, and males will jab with a sharp spine on the tip of their abdomen. Both sexes are well equipped to bite, as they have large jaws; however, they don't appear to grasp human skin and bite. They are non-aggressive towards humans and usually fly away when swatted at, instead of attacking. Cicada killers exert a natural control on cicada populations and thus may directly benefit the deciduous trees upon which their cicada prey feed.
