Field TRIP - -> Central Florida CUBES
    #10434083 -

So I took my Nikon D40 to the field with me to do some field TRIP work.  I am still learning with my camera as I usually take my Sony point and shoot - but this trip sure was fun.
Anyone else finding anything in Florida?

Cool cubie!

Sick FAT bugger!

Crazy upskirt shot of a fat cube with veil still attached (it looks like plastic) - even look cooler after you eat it!

Nice shots, especially the first.

What lens are you using?

Thank you.
The lens has 18-55mm DX on it.  It also says 1:3.5-5.6GII.
I don't know what that stuff means, but it sure takes some great pictures all around!

Here's a couple more of some Inactive Pans that my son after seeing the picture said "Dad, that looks like the smurf village"...LOL...I know it's not the best because the shrooms are slightly out of focus - but I'm still learning.

On these second set of shots, you might be too close to the mushrooms which means the camera can't even focus at that distance.  So instead, it focused on the trees in the background.

Glad you're enjoying the camera, it's a lot of fun.

i just got back from a gigantic field. it's really perfect but it was pretty damn dry out there. I didn't see anything growing at all.  not even inactive Pans.

Thanks Beege,
I've been meaning to take my good camera out there and this trip it paid off for some decent in-situ shots.  I wanted to get some like your ants-view in the last post of yours.  Next thing I'll have to do is dig a small hole near the mushroom and stick my camera down in the hole for a tight up-skirt pic:grin:...if at first I don't succeed I'll try and try again.

panaeolus,
I put in a few hours on this last trip.  I saw plenty of Pans, no Pan cyans.  I saw LOTS of Gym's.  I only found a handful of cubes.  The sick-fat bugger in pic #2 didn't even look like a cube at 1st glance.  It was all orange.  Also I found another cube that didn't even look like a cube because the cap color was purple and brown.

~peace and happy hunting!

How about you keep your closed minded accusations to yourself?  There's plenty of ways to have fun "as an adult" and responsibly raise a terrefic child.
