any shroomerites from australia and/or sydney?

Hey, i was thinking about studying abroad for a year in college. for my cinema major my school offers the univerity of technology in sydney.
can anyone offer any advice on living expenses, job oportunites or housing?
are my rights to search and seizure or free speech essnetially similar to the united states?
is there alot of public transit in sydney?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dude u dont want to be messing with weed in sydney, they have a lot of dog patrols there

Other than that ive been in sydney few times, nice, subtropical, lots of fine architecture... very very expensive

I have a friend who lives there and works as ASP programmer... so there are jobs...

But anyway, i think a year in sydney university iss ace, have fun

weed has a risk element like any other country where its illegal

theyre allowed to search using dogs on public transport,bus shelters,train stations,bars/pubs and warranted searchs of property or if in car they need reasonable cause

housing shortages and rents are rising from the bailout but there is back packer hostels for the destitute traveller

i dont know what the job market is like but im sure you could get a job if you tried but you need work visas and depending on the job the necesary tickets or qualifications unless you fruit pick or become a labourer or a waiter or something

we're coming into winter soon so bring a jacket

theres public transport like every major city has

I'm jealous.  I was there a few years back visiting some family that got relocated over there.  Sydney had all the awesome things I love about  NYC, without any of the horrible things I hate about NYC.  It was fucking sweet.

Plus, I didn't meet any mean australians :shrug:

we give what we get,thats not racism its experience and knowlege in worldy matters and some foriegners attitudes towards us which we find offensive and racist just like everyone else so we try to get along and give everyone a fair go but wipe your feet at the door mat before you enter or we'll wipe the mat with your fucking heads :lol:

to get into sydney or australia without being deported,you need money aswell or a good visa card to prove you arent destitute

personally i wouldnt leave for another country unless i had atleast 5 grand but thats just me,id want to feel atleast a little bit comfortable.
declare everything aswell.

theres also some mid north coastal towns on the east coast reachable by cheap flight or train that you would call paradise but thats only if you wanted to get away from the city,which i'd recommend

they say it does in the nightlife department but nsw shits all over victoria in every thing else,then again americans,canadians or people from colder climates up north might like the drizzly rainy cold weather your partying state has to offer
