My opinion is that mycelium aging should be measured in distance it conquers. The more distance mycelium overcomes, the more cells it has to divide. Ahum, I don't know if my English is making sense.

Let's say; if you do g2g in very small jars ten times, it will probably be more viable than if you'd use huge jars.

As for the topic, IMO it's assumable that the mycelium looses potency after a few transfers (aging). Just like older people often loose potency to make children.

Yeah but it takes humans about 40-50 years to lose they're mojo for makin children. I am under the impression based on experience that mycelium will last even longer without losing potency. Certainly much longer then the "3 month" belief floatin around here.

Mycelium is magic.

That can be, but a human can't grow out to an adult in 40 days. But as a NOOB, I can't say if it's possible without testing. I do know ppl use master cultures to work with, you should ask yourself why, as it's much more work!

im guessing its the number of times it has to recolonize and recover and be able to reproduce once again, and how well it does each time. im sure it uses a lot of energy each generation. over and over again. sounds tiring to me. still no matter what after some time senescence will set in. i guess its all about trying to maximize the spawn run as much as you can while you can.
