Whats happening,
Im eating some mushies tommorrow and I would like to expose myself to some good trippin music. I like acid jazz, ambient, mellow electronica along with folksy psychodelica sounds like Keller Williams and Becks new album. I dont want to sit here downloading acid jazz and electronica DJs and songs on a hit or miss basis (although I like the music I dont like the rave scene and am unfamiliar with quality artists) I am looking primarily for mellow, mind warping music... if anyone knows any good tracks or artists I should discover, please leave me a post reply. I use Grokster, if that matters anyways, to download most of my music. Even if you have some other type of music you think sounds good to trip to, tell me about it as well. Thanks for all suggestions. :grin:

Tool.  :grin:  Any Tool.  Especially the song Third Eye.  Not really mellow though, but definitely nice on the mind.  I love Pink Floyd (DSotM), I imagine something folky like Grateful Dead would be nice, though I havn't tried it myself.  To be honest with ya the best trip music is what you like when you aren't tripping.  Oh, and the Doors.  :laugh:

It's on the new Mitsubishi SUV commercial- I got the CD ('Genetic World') and it's ok, some weird "lab" things inbetween some of the songs, but number 1 is still the best, put it on repeat and you'll haer a different sound and beat come through everytime

well slow warping music may sseem like the most fun at first but i think you will be longing for crazy music during your peak and trip, then ambient and such in your comedown, i personally love listening to hard dark dnb if im in a very energetic and positive mood, if not, some hard fast goa or tribal trance can sound very cool

I used to love listening to metal on X, and when i was stoned, it sounded good on acid too...
Shit, all music sounds good when youre on X, stoned, or on acid...
When i started doing shrooms, I had to change my music tastes, beacuse metal fucekd with my head too much..
I soon learned that whilst shrooming, ALL music fucks with my head too much. Ive lisetned to pink floyd, the beatles, loads of techno/trance, and a lot of mellow music, and by the time the shrooms started hitting hard, i had to throw off the headphones or scream "TURN IT OFF TURN OFF THE FUCKING MUSIC" if it wasnt on headphones...
granted, i like to take HUGE doses, but still...i cant listen to music on shrooms..
its good on the comedown though.

Something mellow and spacey..various Steve Roach albums...Dreamtime Return is a good listen to space out to..

Hey All, just got home from the jobby job... like some of the suggestions I read about on the thread. Love Captain Beefheart and Zappa, completely forgot about those two. Tom Jones? Delilah? Vegas lounge on shrooms? Who knows maybe shit like that and Sinatra and Dino might be good. Im downloading some of the electronica suggested and so far you guys are right on. THanks for the opinions.

The Shpongle albums are the most unbelievable audio experiences I've ever been through........ by VERY FAR.

Edit #1 (Addition): and DON'T pirate these albums on MP3 because there are such tiny subtle sounds in there that don't even make it to mp3 - i heard it on mp3, then bought the album and its totally different....

I tend to like mellower music, depressing even. When I listen to the lyrics, there are always profound connections with things in my personal life... Everything seems to make perfect sense while I'm altered.

apart from the usual stuff i think cornelius would be quite good tripping, tho i havent experienced his music on shrooms yet...his music is very interesting, lots of samples of nature, try songs like 'mic check' 'smoke' 'cannabis' 'drop' and 'count 4 5 6'

Planet Caravan the original by Black Sabbath has to be my favorite song to trip to.
Pantera also did a remake on Far Beyond Driven. If you can get a hold of the video for Pantera's version it's just insane.
