Murphy Wall Beds

So I'm thinking about designing and building my own horizontally folding Murphy Bed similar to the one above (but a full size mattress)....

anyone have a Murphy Bed?

I love space saving furniture.

That would be great for a studio apartment, dorm or if you share a place.  I got my own 2 bedroom apartment plenty of space for me :grin:

my bedroom is over 500 sq feet, bigger than my first apartment, I'm good



MJF, Woodcraft and Highland Hardware both have plans and hardware
kits for murphy beds, that one you posted is pretty interesting,
wouldnt take much to build

lucky you, I'm lucky to have nice size apartment though most people don't got one as big as I do my entire apartment is a little over 900 sq ft total and it's low income place, ghetto yes but it used to be $60 cheaper :sad:

damn dude...your bedroom is a lot bigger than my entire apartment. i live in a 297 sq. ft. efficiency.

Great space saver but I wouldn't want to sleep on the mattress in that picture for more than a night.

Those midnight walks to the bathroom must be treacherous, man could get lost for days at a time.

That pictured bed looks like a nightmare for your back and sex life though.

yeah i don't plan to make it exactly like the picture...

my mattress is twice the size and thickness....and i'm going to have it fold out and be closer to the ground.
