Identification Cubensis

This was a single specimen found in the backyard in a pile of thick grass and moss under a shady tree, it reminds me of Creepers but it looks different i do dump live mycelium and my old cakes back there where if found it but however it does look a little different then the ones i grow also i notice these are not hollow like my typical creepers nor could i get them to bruise blue and my creepers usually bruise extremley easy have yet to have 1 not bruise on me and im currently on my 4th cultivation of them. I got picks and spore print pics though still getting use to my camera so they may not be perfect but should get a general gist of it.














any info is helpful just curious to what this is seriously looks like a cube to me but there are prolly look alikes i dont know about in the wild since i usually just grow them in the house =D

Probably Stropharia rugosoannulata.

Not sure i dont think so the species you listed tends to be found in the woods growing on wood or in pine needles of the sort this wasnt just in thick grass where moss was highly present i would take a pic of where i found it and post it but lots of tornado warnings in my area and its storming pretty bad dont wanna take my camera out in this weather if i can find a good or trustworth ID on it in couple days i'll prolly just try and grow it out and toss it in with my normal creepers and see if it grows out like a cube and what not just rather try and find out what it is ahead of time before i go through all that trouble =D

If you see more save the stem and take some good pictures of it. I see no bluing where you removed the cap from the stem which leads me to believe that is not a Psilocybe.

Stropharia rugosoannulata does grow in wood chips yes, but what if you're dealing with a buried chunk of wood here?

Yea i mentioned there is no bluing which is why i think its just a cube look alike even more of a reason that i want to find out what it is i took a pick of the stem i'll post it up in a sec..

No as i stated found in thick grass with tons of moss present. *Edit also the spot i found it in is where i toss all my spent cakes and liquid culture if i dont trust it so its kinda why i thought it might be a creeper that just looks different since its in the wild but the bluing is what throws me off grown indoors they blue extremley quick and with hardly in pressure at all this thing is just weird also its not a hollow stem which all the creepers i have grown have always been hollow except at the very base of the stem. Also think i found some subs or foens waiting for the weather too die off a bit before i wander out there and take a few pics etc..

Is it edible (not active) curious to know if it taste pretty good or not the one species you posted seemed to be pretty famous for food always on the lookout for a new edible mushroom to add to the collection =D
