Yea, I've read of cheap Chinese analog and digital hygrometers breaking down in the humidity of FCs. So last week I ordered this Red Liquid Masons Hygrometer for $7.70 + $7.45 shipping (still waiting for delivery):

It's simple, supposed to last, and requires no re-calibration. Only con is that you need a chart to see the RH since it works by showing the temp with two bulbs, one wet and the other dry. However I've heard this is relatively easy to discern without the chart for near 100% RH conditions.

I Googled and found a Canadian source for that. What a joke! Look at their price! Frickin bandits! :grin: I definitely won't be shopping at Cole Parmer anytime soon.

Your welcome! Yea, it's odd because they have two of those listed on their site, one for $15 and that one for $7. As far as I can tell they are the same exact model though as the description is exactly the same. I guess it's an error on their part? I love those with online stores. :smile:

no, its the pdf file about the subtraction from one side to the other.

all you have to know is it must stay between 0-1 degree off...

Got it today. It came with the chart but it's only celsius lol. The picture threw me off because it shows fahrenheit even though I see now where the description says, "Dual scales of -10/50°C and -10/50°C."

The description for the $15 one does say "Dual scales of -10/50°C and 10/120°F."

Found this conversion chart. I'll just have to print it out and use it until I get used to celsius. :laugh:

it has to be between 0-2 degrees off if you want the right humidity

dude, thats a fucking regular thermometer...

we are talking about a wet/dry thermometer, IE a hygrometer or psychrometer.

this is not about cheap thermometers, various methods of measuring humidity cost less than 15 dollars at local stores, there is only one wet/dry thermometer on ebay for 15 dollars, that was for identification purposes not explaining how inexpensive it is.

its about a wet/ dry thermometers, if you dont know what that is then google psychrometer

and I recommend refraining from insulting people unless you want to get banned
