Thermometer
    #448477 - 11/06/01 01:32 AM (15 years, 7 months ago)

I bought a shitty 15 dollar thermometer/hydrometer by springfield at walmart
( I wasnt looking for something special..just to give me the temp and you know..tell me everything isnt dry as a bone)
In fact i really just wanted the thermometer but i figured for 3 bucks more i may as well get the combo one
anyway
it says 80 degrees in the room that my thermostat is in which says 73 degrees
I really dont think its 80 degrees in my house...as im not uncomfertably hot or anything
I dunno maybe my thermostat is shitty ...
Do you think this thermometer is just shitty or does it maybe have to be in the room for like an hour before it gets the correct temp?
IO just wanted a fucking thermometer and if its off by like 10 degrees wtf is the point in using it?
I dunno
what do you think?

those thermometers/hygrometers from walmart dont work.
after a little while the rH is too much and waterlogs the circuit boards.

go to the pet section and get ya self a few lil glass fish tank thermometers. They usually come with little suction cups that hold them to the side of most plastic containers.

Im still trying to work out how to monitor high (>85%) humidity

Duncan8r but what would I know

Im not really using it for the hydrometer much..mostly to monitor my incubation of cakes
so its not like humid in there
i mean if i need /want it to monitor the % in a terrarium...when iget that far
i can just put the little sensor in there... ..not the whole unit...I think anyway
but even then im just gonna check it to get an idea if im doing things right..not liek strickly monitor it so its perfect
I think the problem is it just needs to be in tthe spot for like half an hour to tell the temp ite ventually met up with the temp on my thermostat... ...it should still serve its purpose ithink

If there is moisture on the inside walls of your terrarium then the humidity is usually over 90%.
