General Trip Questions

I just have a few questions I hope to get answers to.
Ok has anyone else ever been tripping and you go to write something
down but you can't see the paper? I'm just trying to understand what
happens to the eye that causes such occurences. Does it have to do
with the dialation of the pupil?
Also I would like to know how shrooms basically effect the body from injestion
in terms of where are chemicals released in the body? bloodstream?
and how does it cause you to have the halucinations? I think I read
somewhere that your brain normally blocks unessential info but shrooms
and meditation bypass this. I've also read many similarities in the effects of shrooming and meditating
such as the tingling, high pitched ringing etc. One last thing does anyone else hate when your mind tries to make you think what you experienced wasn't real but temporary insanity?

I'd check out the Erowid site for such inro (available through the links) - lots of info there along the chemistry route. It's not the eye itself as far as visuals go, it's all in the brain. :cool:
