I actually heard him speak about it. It was a hoot considering all the type movies he makes. I liked where he was coming from actually. He's got a fucking strange perspective that I kind of dig.

Oh, there was the arrogant intention to deceive new initiates. Unless one delved into the translation of the Sanskrit initiation that one ignorantly repeated, with the offering of fruit and flowers one had brought, one did not know that one was making a pledge to certain human gurus and to certain 'lesser' spiritual entities. One was inviting these entities into ones 'Lotus of the Heart' - into one's core. The mantras could be found in 'The Garland of Letters,' translated by John Woodruff (Sir Arthur Avalon, author of The Serpent Power), and they too were the names of certain 'lesser' entities. The Omkar (OM) was not permitted to be used, and even teachers were only gradually given more 'advanced' mantras after a period of time - multi-syllabic mantras which purportedly had specific psychic effects. Mantras were not chosen specifically for one, but a list of them (as I discovered) was available to be given on the basis of one's age alone.

When I was just buying the intro course, they used very attractive flirtatious women with the males and suited males with the ladies. It WAS the 70s, and a certain 'delight' was the attitude over my then 'ascetical' endeavors. When joining, their paperwork included a question as to whether we had used psychedelics! The whole thing was cultic and hierarchically ordered with only those at the upper levels 'in the know.'
