lonestar your argument that nationalizing auto manufacturing is bad is the history of a company made by nationalization that rose to be arguably one of the best quality manufacturers in the world? Oh wait just cause Hitler nationalized it and funded it, it's automatically an evil action? Ya know I also heard Hitler listened to music and ate food oh and he was elected. Democracy/music/food = Hitler.

my main problem is that we need to stop these bailouts! let them fail! AIG, CHRYSLER, fuck them! why is the Government using my tax money to save these sorry ass companies!

not to mention that some of these companies probably contribute a hefty percentage of the government's income via taxes.  gotta keep that income flowing.

What I don't understand is how Obama could force their CEO to resign. AIG execs took in millions, Merrill Lynch took in Billions in bonuses after proclaiming their company was financially sound. Two days later the truth came out.

Where are their resignations? WE have given them hundreds of times more money than we have GM, yet they were given a blank check with no oversight. Remember the money was meant to increase lending to stimulate the economy, nearly all of it has gone to foreign banks to pay off debt. Sen. Carl Levin himself stated why are we holding Wagoner under the microscope when the financial institutions have gotten away with financial murder.

Why are concessions by the hourly worker so necessary but they had no problems giving 20 billion in bonuses to execs at Merril Lynch and 165 million to those at AIG. Where are their concessions. 

Why is it when the banks needed money the candidates needed to attend emergency sessions in congress to quickly give them money, yet when GM needed it there had to be lengthy deliberations, etc.

How is it that Geithner/Obama knew nothing about the bonuses,yet Geithner and his team wrote the legislation. And it had been published that they were going to get them since December.

Why is a man who can't even do his own taxes properly is given responsibility to manage the entire economy of the U.S. How did he fail to report income when over the course of several years his employer made him sign notice that he had to claim the very money on his taxes, yet he didn't.

How/why did senator Dodd put the loophole into legislation allowing these bonuses? Oh yeah he had received over $100,000 in contributions from AIG workers, and they got the best laws money can buy.
It just seems to me that the little guy always seems to pick up the tab. Avg. Joe is always responsible for the irresponsible behavior of our elected leaders/CEO's. We are always the ones to be told to make sacrifices, pay more in taxes, grab our ankles, while our so called leaders rake in the cash at our expense.

I actually fashion myself a liberal minded fiscal conservative. I think I'm a Ron Paul supporter now.

I hope he runs again. State rights FTW!!!!
