this is a thread where we remember/pay our respects to the shroomerites who have passed on to a better world...

as far as i know, there have been more than a couple who have. perhaps a dozen. we need to make a list of them, for their remembrance, and remember what they did for this community.

i already started with those 2, now let's see if you can remember any more.

i remember reading about a many shroomerites who have passed way too early before their time. there are probably A LOT more than we realize, we just have no way of finding out.

it was a big deal back in the day... i think back in 2003 or 2004?
it was in the IRC channel #shroomery and everybody watched him taking drugs through his webcam. i think he collapsed, and some members tried calling the cops, but hung up and didn't really try.
(apparently, the cops could have helped, but nobody had enough balls to actually really try hard enough).

but, most of them just sat back and watch the poor guy die. even though with the dosage he took, he got what he had coming to him. but still, it's a shame, and i hope he's resting in peace somewhere far more beautiful than this world.

you can still find the chat logs on the internet, just do some google searches for ripper and the shroomery.

It almost seems wrong to include Hevvy_Psi into a list like this one.  They're all gone from untimely, unfortunate circumstances, but at least Hevvy wasn't an ignorant, irresponsible drug abuser who died as a direct result.

yeah he did make a foolish mistake... a big one. do you know how many drugs he took? what did he expect to happen? i mean everybody makes mistakes, but if you play with fire, especially fire as hot as he played with, you're definitely going to get burnt, and unfortunately it was way too hot for him. i mean i feel bad for him, but he should have been more responsible then that. poor guy :frown:

how many shroomerites do you think die a year?
i wouldn't doubt it if there were at least 2 or 3 a year, maybe even 4 or 5 but we just don't know about it because we don't have anybody to inform us.

I feel kind of bad, I actually blocked him from AIM because I felt like I couldn't help him with his problems. I kind of wish I would have tried a little harder now..:(

Uncle Luke was destined for that fate. 

Look up his extended post history.  It was one brain blisteringly stupid attempt at getting fucked up after another, interspersed with stories of his adventures trying to acquire drugs or whatever else.

Fuck that shit man. We did a lot to try to save him. I was there that night. We did domain look ups (all fake info), tried to get a hold of his local police department, made posts in the mod forum trying to talk to admins. We did a lot dude, it just turned out that there was nothing we could do to save him :frown:

Aside from that, unfortunately I've seen several Shroomerites go. Whether it be through death or long-term sentences in prison. My heart goes out to all of them. I only hope that the guys doing time are alright and might return once they've served their time.

Edit: regardless of what you read about people hanging up, that's bullshit. We had a description of his general location and his car and the police department said that they needed more information.

I think one of the more tragic deaths in recent history was psilocybe_cubensis. I can't even imagine being there that night. I would have been scared for life. I don't think may Shroomerites who were there that night are still around.

DUDE his s/n was Juvember 32nd?! he IMed me a loooong ass time ago but i didn't respond to him because i had no clue who he was. man oh man...

he killed himself? i read the last thread he made and damn, that is so bleak. what a poor guy :frown:
