Birdseed TEK Question

I'm using birdseed as a substrate in 1pint jars right now, and the kernels in some jars (especialy the top layer) easily move about when you tilt the jars. I remember last time I used the exact same birdseed and I had a harder time shaking it. My question is, if you have loose kernels like that, does that mean it's too dry in there? ( Just mostly the top half, some jars are compleatly easy to shake)
Oh yeah, and with this same batch, I inoculated them 5 days ago, and still dont see any white inside, this is the longest ive ever had to wait. Its in an 80degree incubator, and the strain is B+. May it be the dryness?

I like to make my jars easy to shake. the tops of my jars (as well as the rest of them) are always easy to shake. Thats a good thing because the biggest problem is when people use too much water. You should be fine. My last set of birdseed jars with B+ took 3 days for the first jar and 15 days for the last jar to germinate. So i think you are fine there too.

I had my first go at birdseed three weeks ago, and my jars were similar to what you described (loose seeds on top.) I too waited a while to see growth, but once it started, it took over pretty quick. I'd say you have nothing to worry about, but I don't have all that much experience with seed yet.

Has anyone here had to wait 7 or more days to see sighns of growth using the birdseed Tek? Details are:
- Wild Finch Seed - B+ Strain - 80degrees warm, and 50% Humidity in incubation - Polyfill air exchange tek - Each jar recived 5ml spore solution - Jars were inoculated when cooled down - Zero Contams so far - Opened one jar, heathy, no sighn of growth in middle either
So after 5-6 day I havent seen one little sighn ( White mycelium) of growth Im usualy more patient than this, but the feedback would sure help me out, I'm stumped.
