criminals will always get guns but I've not seen anything that
shows what sort of weapon was used, a rifle is kinda hard to
swing around in a car, seems all that police training was sub par

Sorry, just the two SWAT officers who went to help take the suspect into custody got shot with an assault rifle. Remind me again why it is crucial to the Constitution that we can buy these? So we can take over the government? :lol:

reports say 'assault rifle/assault weapon'... how do we know it
wasnt just a rifle

well then it couldnt have been an assault rifle because most of
those are under .30 cal, an AR-15 is onle a .223 caliber and
since a .22 magnum can punch through kevlar it could have been
anything, the first 2 officers were shot in the head

seems the cops were stupid in this situation and people think
the cops need to have assault weapons with their poor training

An AK is 7.62x39mm
an M4 is 5.56mm


But let's be honest, I know jack shit about caliber or what that means. But it was enough to kill 2 heavily armed and armored members of SWAT. I love guns, I really do, but a ban on assault rifles =/= a ban on all guns and it certainly is not a reason to say a politician is doing a bad job.

One of the best days of my life was spent shooting an AK in an old quarry.

7.62mm = .308 caliber

makes you wonder doesnt it why the police couldnt stop a
moderately armed and completely unarmored career criminal with
illegally obtained firearms without it resulting in the deaths
of 4 officers at 2 different scenes with 2 different weapons,
these cops are supposed to be trained to identify threats and it
should have been stopped before the second officer was shot, we
need to be examining the failure in procedure that allowed the
arms to get to the criminal, the failure in the department that
resulted in 4 death, not demanding a ban on assault weapons
simply because some criminal managed to illegally buy a a couple
of weapons and killed 4 cops

it certainly isnt a ban on all guns but it is a major step in
that direction, the funny part is I can purchase or build
pistols that use the same calibers as the big scary black guns,
what then, a ban on assault pistols? as we've seen, one the
legislation starts, it opens the door to more legislation, ask
Ol' Joe Biden why it's now a crime to smuggle drugs by submarine
when smuggling drugs was illegal to start with, seems that if I want to build or buy a sub now my motives come into question

So in addition to banning guns that you and some other people find scary, but we should now also ban ammunitions that scare you?  You do realize, that for most every ammo type used in "assault" rifles, there are also non "assault" rifles that use those same ammunitions, right?  Sounds like what you are actually saying is that you'd want a ban on ALL rifles period, otherwise your argument makes no sense.

I said nothing about banning ammunition, nor do I suggest banning all rifles. Nor do I even support an assault rifle ban, but if it happens it's not the end of the fucking world.

You used the ammo type as the basis of your argument, and pointed out how they killed heavily armed swat, just like any rifle round could also do, and any properly aimed pistol round also. 

BTW, you can always tell someone knows they are wrong in a debate or discussion when they have to resort to name calling.
