To me stealing avatars is like stealing someone's face. It's really the only think i have to identify the person with. And like real face stealers in irl (i.e. witches), they must be burned at the stake. It's the final solution to avatar stealing.

He says it in the book too doesn't he? Right around when Jessica and he are in the desert and they get ambushed and he meets Chani for the first time? I think when he's hiding from them he says it to himself for reassurance. Or something. Or drugs have addled my mind too much for this without a reference.
