no gypsum, what to do?

I was considering trying some rye grass seed for cubes and it turns out I cant find gypsume anywhere. Could I just use pickleing lime instead? If not, what is a suitable replacement for gypsume. I know it has some nutes to lend to the substrate, but I just want to keep the grass seed from clumping up. What should I use?

crumble the inside of drywall into a powder; presto, that's gypsum.

sorry, no spare drywall laying around. so i can't use lime then, either? Can I skip this step?

i often skip adding gypsum to my coir grows and they turn out fine

Gypsum should be available at every garden center in the world, and drywall scraps are available at every hardware or building center.  I wouldn't skip it, especially with grass seed.  Don't use lime.  It's not the same thing.

would natural chalk from a chalk cliff work? I'm pretty sure it's calcium-sulfat which is gypsum right?

I looted some of that on holidays in Denmark.

You can pick up a bucket of plaster of paris in the hardware store.  It's the same thing.

A friend of mine called me about 3hours after my original post. He had pieces of drywall left over from when he remodeled his house. Crushed it, used it, and now the seed is cool and waiting inouculation. Thanks for all the guidance as usual. Roger I'm glad somebody cleared up my "is lime like gypsum" question.
