always have to be calm. awkward conversation is not sexy.  if you start out with a laugh it will lighten you and her up.

try walking up looking really confused and say "Hey. i think i know  your boyfriend. what is his name?"  then when she says she doesnt have one give her a smile and introduce urself with a handshake.  it always gets a laugh.  plus it doesnt hurt to be uber sexy urself

You take a look in her basket, pick something out, and ask her how she cooks it.  She will know what you are really interested in, but it gives you plausible deniability so if she isn't very friendly you can play it off like you are just interested in learning how to cook.

Maybe try to talk to some ugly chicks first, that way you don't care if you win or lose, and it'll help you learn the ropes. You don't have to do anything with em afterwords, but it'll help with that first conversation.

I dunno though, that seems, in some ways, even more difficult for me. Just feels like a waste of time, but it could work for some.
