Yep, a few moms with menopause made some angry phone calls to the ole' Chastity Flake factory to bitch and moan about how featuring Phelps on their boxes was undermining years spent taking the "If you smoke weed, you'll never amount to anything!" approach to deterring their children from toking up. As a result, Kellog's drops Phelps, then that 1 out of every 2 Americans who has tried pot starts hitting the bullshit button on their computers (its the big red one hidden beneath the keyboard), people start boycotting Kellog's because Phelps isn't on the box anymore. Kellog's then pays CNN to cover them giving all the Phelps boxes to a good christian cause.

But what about the message we send to the poor? Well, normally we don't give a rat's ass, but you see, we're in a bit of a pickle because while we were sniffing our own farts after dropping that no-count-pothead's sponsorship, it seems that we pissed off a load of reasonable people who think that breaking just about every world record in swimming is a more telling mark of character than inhaling the smoke from a burnt flower. Anyway, we devised a clever plan to neutralize our market-karma, oh, and you also get free food. Enjoy, and remember, sex and masturbation lead to mental illness and death.

Wow.... That went somewhere else. I needz me some sleep.
I hope someone finds this enjoyable. I know I will when I wake up and read over this semi-coherent mass of vague allusions and hypothetical narrative.

The funniest part about this whole thing is that stoners tried to boycott kellogs, (there was something on huffington post about it that was pretty funny), but I think they get too stoned and forget about it or the munchies get the better of them.  On some other forum I saw a post titled "I totally spaced my kellogs boycott" in a stoners' area.  I didn't read it, but that title just made me laugh.

Either way, Kelloggs made a loss by dropping Phelps (because they had all those leftover boxes) so they tried to turn it into a PR move. Would they have donated those boxes if the Phelps ordeal didn't happen? No.

I'm doubting this was just a PR attempt. I'm betting all my money on the fact that someone in their cost accounting department figured out it would be cheaper to just give the boxes away and write them off as a donation in their taxes than to repackage them in their new Phelp's less box. Pretty smart thinking and it was some free PR. Grains are fucking expensive these days.

Everything done in Corporate America is always done for all the wrong reasons...Well unless your google. God knows how they make money giving so much free shit.

I want to get a hold of those boxes, that short of a production (depending on Phelp's future accomplishments) would make those a collector item. I can't stand Phelp's but won't buy a kellogs products for the simple fact of a persons right to smoke whatever he wants to (not putting anyone else in harms way or using drugs in a way to "cheat").
