Eire Og and Gary Og

I'm not sure if any of you care for Irish Rebel music, stuff native to the land of Ireland and a bit more to the current roots of life there. I discovered Eire Og and Gary Og awhile back, but only because I had heard a few of their songs that caught my attention. Recently I decided to take initiative to find more music by Gary Og, and managed to find some wonderful tunes.

I attached the song Willie & Danny by Eire Og, the singer is Gary Og. His stuff in my opinion is pretty amazing for irish rebel ballads. Most are based around older stuff, things that everyone has sung, from the keltics to the dubliners to the evergreens. This Eire Og has some fresh tunes though...

i heard a story about an american that found out he was irish so he went to ireland to help the cause and the ira murdered him and tried to make it look like the british did it

Yeah there are about 50 different groups in Ireland that call themselves the IRA. The IRA is at a ceasefire with the british government and hasn't raised arms in over 14 years. Any group that currently claims itself to be IRA is a terrorist group, extremist fanatics that can't let go of the thought of war.

Doesn't mean the song isn't good.

have you seen the movie 'the long good friday'?

its about a london gangster in the 70's (bob hoskins)that accidently goes to war with the ira while he's trying to control the underworld

its dated a little but a good movie still
