8 inch pvc ,with a cap on one end and a clean out on the other ,they make really nice stashes, just mark them with your gps.
I bought a 100 foot last year ,with a dozen caps and a dozen clean outs.
It takes a few midnight stash runs to get them in place, but it will be well worth it.

That's pretty clevar

Prisoner is going to have complete control over the post-apocalyptic world.  Get on his good side.

Crasher:  Pre-stocked locations are a good idea.  I couldn't see myself staying put enough to do even that though.

a lone wolf that gets others to co-op with him to do things, is no longer a "lone wolf" just a more agressive version of a co-op group. fighting each other is groups is now a war of non-lone wolfs. I was referring to thos who thought they could survive on their own.

agriculture is the only thing that will support a large population. the only other option is to be nomadic.

really, want to step backwards intellectually 20,000 years when the collapse will only set us back in resources for a period of time. really want to be nomadic?? go for it. hope your  shelter is mobile.

a collapse of the system would be similar to the times after the black plague at worst, we wouldnt be running around in teepees and loin cloths. Especially with all the available houses that are totally live in-able after all those people die off that you spoke of.

yeah lets live in the woods like apes, barely meeting basic needs, when we could co-op and create something better for ourselves with who ever is left.

i really dont see any perks to stepping back that far in evolution. but i guess its an option for someone.

I said use a gps to mark them ,not find them.
Plus, unless you leave it on all the time ,batteries usually last 6 months or more.

If you dont plan on finding them with a GPS unit, why would you bother marking them with one?

You sit in the woods and figure exact locations and get back to me.
Once you write it down ,its located forever.

Wouldn't GPS be unavailable to everyone who isn't in the US army, in such a scenario?

I was under the impression that all the GPS satellites are owned and operated by the US army, and that they could shut it off (for those without the right decryption keys) at will?

Currently when the military is conducting operations ,civillian gps goes out to about 300 ft accuracy.
I have no idea if it will be operational in a end world scenario,I imagine the military will be worried about other militaries invading in a time of weakness.
I dug the holes ,I have a pretty good idea where my stuffs at,the entire gps thing is redundant and not needed, but will be a great thing if it still works in that scenario.
