It'll be painful, no doubt about that. But it has the potential to work and it is nowhere near as difficult as the cold turkey method.
If you really want to quit, I would tell people off the internet. Friends, family, a counselor, anyone. You need real support and people who can monitor your progress. Doing it all alone will be the most difficult thing you've ever faced.
Good luck dude. I sincerely hope you kick the habit.
In my experience, tapering (especially with heroin) is a lot harder to do than just kicking cold turkey. It's hard to keep a certain amount of heroin, and only do so little. It's hard to stick to your taper plan, but if you really want it, it can work. It's just heroin isn't the best to taper with.
What I would do, is somehow come up with like 50-100 dollars. I'd order as many pods as I could and then make a taper plan and stick to it. Pods are a lot easier to taper down with because of it's long half life, and because it's not heroin
