Ganoderma applanatum

I think these are Ganoderma applanatum I picked this one a year ago on a dead cottonwood tree in Iowa.Spores are brown.See the finger prints from when i picked it.I want to start making tea from them if they are Ganoderma applanatum.It was a hot summer day when i picked and in the sun light you could see spores coming from all of them on this one tree.p.s the bottom was white when i picked it

Ya one day they were just pumping spores out. You could see it from 20 feet away.

So do you think the rumors of growing reishi and walking into a rust spore cloud are true? I didn't believe it was so bad with this genus....
