Try spraying anti-fungicides on it and peroxide (I think?, or it was some other thing you can just spray on mold to help the cactus fight back) on the mold

the rot is internal, that wont help.
in fact spraying it and making it wet would probably make things worse.

Rot can not be undone in places where it is already rotten, you have to find a place above the rot to cut, or call it a day.

well in this case where the rot is all the way up, there is no place to cut above or below.
he'll probably have to scoop out any rotten sections and treat with sulfur dust.

Sulfur dust hmm? Does a botanical store sell that, or a hardware store or what...
I was thinking of scooping out the rot, then treating the live flesh with alcohol a few times a day, drying it after I apply it. Whattaya think of that?

yeah sulfer/sulphur is common in garden centres.
i would stick with the powdered option, not liquids.

No its not total mush. Some is mush, most of it is orange in color. And it lets water heavily when cut.

I'll get over it. I chose to put my other cuts in the large pot, after I cleaned the sloppy one my cat left in the unclaimed soil...Fuckin ass hole...

I told my dogs what Charlie, my cat, did, and they were pissed and ready for war.
